Catherine College Of Education, founded in 1983 by R.D. Ratna Raju and Lt. Prof. (Mrs.) Satya Bala, has over 45 years of educational experience.
Catherine Group of Institutions is one of the premier educational institutions in rural Vizag, imparting quality education since 1983. Founded and run on Christ centered principles by Prof. R D Ratna Raju and (Late) Prof (Mrs) Satyabala. This Christian Institution educates, nurtures, and inspires girls and boys of diverse backgrounds to achieve their highest academic and creative potential, to embrace ethical values and, to become useful & active contributors to their communities.
The founders being retired professors, have been serving the cause of education for more than 50 years. They draw from their rich exposure to education systems in Europe, America and Asia and the amazing story of Catherine Institutions, which has already established a legacy of academic excellence, is a story that continues to unfold.
We strive to prepare all students to become lifelong learners and responsible citizens ready to meet the challenges of the future.
In partnership with families and community, our goal is to create relevant learning opportunities for students — both inside and outside the classroom — that help them develop the knowledge, critical thinking skills, and character necessary to succeed in a technologically advanced world.

These values will be institutionalized and lived out by the Catherine Family, and efforts will be made to keep in touch with the parents of the institutions for feedback and constructive suggestions.
Its Secretary Mr. Oliver Rayi, is an Education Technologist, Value Education Specialist, Lifeskills Expert and also holds a Masters in Business Administration. He was awarded the Indian Leadership Award for Education Excellence in 2014. He was instrumental in ushering in innovation in the teaching-learning environment. His leadership ensures that the institutions are actively listening, reflecting, and evolving. Catherine was the first to introduce in this part of Vizag, the latest technological aids in the field of education and through collaborative Global Teaching Associates.
Under the leadership of its Principal Dr. Evangeline Godi, Catherine College of Education takes pride in participating in collaborative research and learning methodology with the preservice students of Victoria University, Melbourne, Australia since the past eight years. Being a Doctoral student of Education Dr. Evangeline Rayi produced her thesis on Emotional Intelligence of adolescent students. Her endeavor is to inculcate in the student teachers a strong moral purpose and thus imbibing ethical principles that honour the values of equity and justice. They learn the importance of empathy, sympathy and support toward and for one another by enhancing their emotional quotient.
With the strong foundation given, many of its alumni have taken up their career in some of the prestigious educational institutions across the country and abroad. Students are encouraged to stand up for their own convictions and learn the essentials of teamwork: cooperation, collaboration, and resolution of conflict. Students are empowered to make a difference in their community and learn the values of compassion, integrity, and responsibility as lifelong habits.
